JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Produce Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for monitoring the quality of all products that are delivered to Atlantis Outlets and Baha Mar on an ongoing basis and performing other related duties as required. Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in performing duties directly related to the general operation of quality control.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check products that are delivered to customers and apply date stickers at Atlantis daily to make certain products that are up to acceptable standards.
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of inventory received by customers.
  • Communicate with Sales, Transportation, and Warehouse regarding all quality issues and assist them in resolving them to ensure the customer receives the highest quality products possible.
  • Ensure products are rotated properly during receiving, and communicate any problems with rotation to the Customers, Sales, and/or members of Sysco Management responsible.
  • Inspect and document product condition and dates upon receiving at customer locations.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation for customer credits.
  • Completes visits to all Atlantis Loading Docks, Commissary, and Outlets to communicate with receivers, chefs and purchasing managers.
  • Monitor specialty produce items for customer locations.
  • Accompany White Glove Produce delivery at Atlantis and Baha Mar.
  • Operates forklift/pallet jack when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
  • Accompany delivery at Baha Mar if requested.
  • Provides weekly updates on quality and service level for outlets.
  • Analyze, identify, and propose action to the solution of problems associated with customer deliveries.
  • Observe all safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must have exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
  • Forklift operator certification preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low. 
  • Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to work Holidays, Thursdays, Sundays when applicable.
