Business Overview

The IP Content Business Department develops a wide range of businesses related to IP.

Rakuten Content Central is a content label that handles everything from IP (intellectual property) development to comprehensive content production.

The company provides comprehensive entertainment services, including the production of IP and IP content such as anime, live action film, novel, manga, and sports event, acquisition and distribution of international films, production and merchandising of IP-based goods, and mobile vertical reading manga.

Rakuten Content Central operates as a media franchise business, comprehensively producing content from IP development to IP distribution by harnessing the Rakuten Ecosystem. This ecosystem interconnects over 70 services provided by the Rakuten Group, anchored by a membership base of more than 100 million Rakuten members. By utilizing the ‘Rakuten Ecosystem’ as a strategic advantage.

Department Overview

The Rakuten IP Content Produce Section is composed of producers from diverse backgrounds, including IP holders, film companies, and TV stations.

This diversity allows our team to approach each project from multiple perspectives. We produce anime and live-action films and series by leveraging the Rakuten Ecosystem.

In 2022, we produced our first TV anime series based on the popular manga “Me and Roboco,” serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2027, we are planning to release 14 titles (including 9 Rakuten leading projects), and we will continue to release around 10 to 15 titles every year.

Position:

Position Details

Mainly be responsible for sales of anime titles to domestic streaming companies regardless of whether we are the leading company or not.

・Sales of video content (anime titles) to domestic streaming companies

・Liaison work for Anime production committees in which we invest.

・Consideration of investment in new projects.

・Work with other internal departments and Rakuten services to maximize operational revenue.

This role is primarily focused on streaming and digital distribution sales.

In addition, depending on project needs and the individual's aptitude, the successful candidate may also be involved in assistant producer responsibilities, providing exposure to broader content production and business operations.

Based on performance and potential, there will be opportunities to pursue a career path toward a Producer role in the future.

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Experience in domestic distribution sales of video content

Desired Qualifications:

・Experienced in production committees

・Experienced in domestic distribution sales of live-action content

・Individuals who possess extensive knowledge and interest in the entertainment industry and IP-related products and services, regardless of genre, including manga, anime, music, sports, and fashion.

・Those with experience in the character business.

TOEIC score of 800 or higher (or proof of equivalent English proficiency through other certifications, or a degree from a university in an English-speaking country).
