Senior Manager - Internal Audit & Controls

Looking for an opportunity to make an impact in risk management and governance while working with leading organizations? As a Senior Manager Internal Audit & Internal Control within BDO’s Risk Advisory practice, you will help clients strengthen their governance, risk and control environments while driving sustainable business performance. Beyond leading complex engagements, you will play a key role in growing our business, developing our people and further expanding BDO’s presence in the Belgian market.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Manager, you will combine client delivery, commercial leadership, people management and business development responsibilities. You will act as a trusted advisor to executive management, Audit Committees and Boards while helping drive the continued growth of BDO’s Risk Advisory practice. 

• Lead complex Internal Audit and Internal Control engagements from planning to delivery. 

• Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, Audit Committees and Boards.

• Build and manage long-term client relationships while ensuring high client satisfaction.

• Identify business opportunities, develop proposals, and contribute to revenue growth.

• Drive innovation and help expand BDO’s Internal Audit and Risk Advisory offerings.

• Lead, coach and develop your colleagues

• Support recruitment, resource planning, and team development initiatives.

• Ensure high-quality delivery, project profitability and compliance with professional standards.

• Represent BDO in the market through networking, events and thought leadership.  

What do you bring to the table?

We're looking for an experienced leader with a strong combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen and people leadership skills. 

• 8+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Internal Control, Risk Management, External Audit or Advisory.

• Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law or related field.

• Strong knowledge of Internal Audit standards (IIA), COSO, Enterprise Risk Management and Governance frameworks.

• Proven experience managing executive stakeholders and large client portfolios.

• Strong business development track record.

• Experience leading, coaching, and developing multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong commercial mindset with an understanding of project economics and profitability.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Fluent in Dutch or French and English.
