Purpose
The Student Pricing Admin will work with the Pricing team through various areas within the department. This role will also include special project work across different areas, with opportunities to partner with a variety of roles to gain knowledge and understanding of how new accounts are brought onboard and how existing accounts are analyzed for profitability. This would include independent projects.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties
- Review new business opportunities and look for key characteristics
- Sort & organize all request for pricing data to be analyzed
- Participate in the Weights and Inspections Process to understand discrepancies in the data
- Evaluate freight density and volume for proper cost allocation
- Review existing accounts to understand how preliminary information is differed from reality and what impacts that makes to the business
- Analyze account profitability by using cost model software
- Ensures timely and accurate reporting, validation, and analysis of assigned work
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Actively pursuing a degree in Business Management, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or Supply Chain
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently
- Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform this job
- Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Exceptional attention to numeric and other detail
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Intermediate level ability on Microsoft Excel
- 15-20 hours per week (during the school year)
- 35-40 hours per week (during the summer)
- Must be able to commute to the work location at least 2 days a week
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
- Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
