Our client, a luxury Maldives resort, is seeking an accomplished Executive Housekeeper to lead and elevate the Housekeeping Department. In this role, you will direct and organize daily operations to uphold exceptional service standards while ensuring efficiency and alignment with budget goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the Housekeeping Department to meet the daily needs of the operation.
- Clearly describe, assign, and delegate responsibility and authority for the operation of the various Rooms sub-departments, e.g., Floor Supervisors, Mini Bar Supervisor, and Laundry Supervisor.
- Develop, implement and monitor schedules for the operation of all sub-departments to achieve the budgeted goals.
- Implement effective control of all costs including labor, supplies, equipment, etc., among all sub-departments.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, repair, and storage of all supplies, equipment, and facilities. Ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
- Assist the sub-department Supervisors in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives and desired standards of quality, service, safety and cleanliness.
- Develop, with the aid of the sub-department Supervisors as well as the operating tools necessary and incidental to modern management principles, e.g., budgeting, forecasting, purchase specifications, report preparation and presentation, etc.
- Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of the personnel in the Housekeeping Department. Plan and administer a training and development program within the Department which will provide well trained employees at all levels and permit advancement for those persons qualified and interested in career development. Prepare job descriptions, conduct regularly scheduled employee meetings, etc.
- Inspects all areas of resort to Ensure all furnishings, fixtures and equipment are in good repair.
- Supervises preventive maintenance and renovation in cooperation with Engineering.
OTHER:
- Operate in PMS Opera.
- The role is required to be aware of the resort HACCP policy and the influences of the Housekeeping Department. Ensure kitchen uniforms are laundered separately and within correct temperature parameters. In-room crockery should be washed in a hygienic manner and monitored, supported by the company’s SOPs. It is recommended that the role will attain level 1, HACCP Food Safety, certified by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
- Actively participates as a member of the Department Head Committee.
- The working schedule is such normally associated with the position and level of responsibility. Due to the nature of work in the hospitality industry, the person engaged will be required to perform odd hours, work on week-ends, public holidays and during cyclonic weather. Consequently no claims for overtime, extra payment or compensation in any form will be entertained.
- The work environment requires regular work in outside weather conditions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree in related field required.
- Five years in hotel Housekeeping Department operations including a minimum of three years in management and three years in a similar position.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid preferred.
- Considerable skill in simple mathematical calculations without error. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to move throughout all Housekeeping areas and perform essential job functions.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret written documents; write speeches and articles; make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations to a variety of audiences; listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally/writing.
- Ability to access and accurately input information in a computer system.
