## About the Opportunity

Would you like to contribute to the evolution of Ericsson’s 5G, 6G, and Cloud RAN solutions while exploring Generative AI and Agentic Software Development? This thesis focuses on telemetry and analytics for AI-assisted software porting.

Ericsson is a global leader in mobile communication technology and is shaping the future of intelligent RAN software development. As software systems become increasingly complex, AI-powered workflows are essential for improving engineering productivity and accelerating technology evolution.

The thesis will investigate how engineering teams can capture, measure, and analyze data from Agentic AI workflows used to migrate software functionality from 5G RAN to 6G RAN solutions. The aim is to understand productivity gains, iteration efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of these workflows.

## What You Will Do

The objective is to design and develop a telemetry and analytics framework for Agentic AI-driven software porting workflows. Your work may include:

  • Defining the telemetry required to measure AI-assisted software porting activities.
  • Designing mechanisms to capture agent iterations, task progress, engineering effort, and delivery milestones.
  • Developing analytics and visualization capabilities to measure workflow performance.
  • Defining and evaluating productivity metrics, including estimated versus actual engineering effort, workflow efficiency, and productivity gains.
  • Investigating methods to correlate telemetry with Epics, User Stories, and software delivery outcomes.
  • Analyzing and validating the effectiveness of Agentic AI workflows for 5G-to-6G RAN software porting.

You will also learn industry best practices, agile ways of working, and state-of-the-art software development environments while contributing to next-generation RAN product development.

## The Skills You Bring

  • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with Jira.
  • Experience with Amazon Q/Kiro CLI, Claude Code, or other AI coding assistants is beneficial.
  • A collaborative, creative, and people-oriented mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and assume ownership.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
