State Street Markets is seeking a Market Risk Analyst to support Securities Financing activities, including Prime Brokerage and Securities Lending. The role is responsible for real-time portfolio risk oversight, margin governance, collateral adequacy, and risk-based decision making across hedge fund, broker, and agency lending client exposures. The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in analyzing hedge fund portfolios across a range of investment strategies, including Equity Long/Short, Credit, and Convertible Arbitrage. This position requires sound judgment, the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and confidence making risk decisions under pressure.

What you will be responsible for
As Front Office Market Risk Analyst, Assistant Vice President you will:
Perform intraday and end-of-day risk monitoring of hedge fund and financing portfolios.
Assess collateral sufficiency and margin adequacy for Prime Brokerage and Securities Lending exposures.
Analyze portfolio risks, including leverage, liquidity, concentration, and financing exposures.
Review and challenge margin methodologies, evaluating sensitivity to volatility, liquidity, and concentration risks.
Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to assess tail-risk events and liquidity shocks.
Monitor risk limits and escalate breaches with clear risk-based recommendations.
Partner closely with Trading, Prime Brokerage, and Securities Finance teams to evaluate client and portfolio risk.
Support risk assessments for new client onboarding and due diligence reviews.
Contribute to the enhancement of risk frameworks, margin models, and stress-testing methodologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
3+ years of experience in Prime Brokerage, Securities Financing, or Margin Risk Management.
Strong understanding of hedge fund portfolio risk across equity, credit, and relative-value strategies.
Experience evaluating portfolio leverage, liquidity, financing, and collateral risks.
Working knowledge of margin methodologies, including Reg T, portfolio margin, and house margin models.
Demonstrated ability to make risk decisions and communicate effectively with front-office teams and clients.
Understanding of trade settlement processes and Prime Brokerage give-up mechanics.
Preferred
Series 7 registration.
Knowledge of ISDA/CSA documentation, SIMM, and bilateral margin frameworks.
Experience with market risk platforms such as Bloomberg, TS Imagine, or similar systems.
Python or other quantitative programming skills.
Familiarity with Prime Brokerage counterparty credit risk and client due diligence processes.
Prior broker-dealer or securities financing experience.
CFA, FRM, or comparable professional designation.

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $157,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
