Job Description
About This Role
GE Vernova's gas turbines power communities, industries, and critical infrastructure around the world — and the sourcing strategy behind every component is part of what makes that possible. As a Product Cost Strategy Leader within Gas Power Sourcing, you will own the development and execution of a comprehensive cost reduction strategy for our Flange to Flange (F2F) product portfolio. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional leadership role where your work directly shapes the competitiveness, reliability, and long-term value of GE Vernova's power generation products.
If you are someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution — who can build relationships across organizational boundaries, influence senior stakeholders, and turn complex supply chain challenges into actionable plans — this role was built for you.
What You'll Do
- Own the cost reduction strategy for F2F products — partnering with Commodity Leaders, Global Materials Leaders, Engineering, and suppliers to identify, plan, and execute cost actions including new supplier development, technical collaboration to improve yield and output, and design-driven cost improvements.
- Define and mobilize resources in collaboration with Sourcing, Finance, and Engineering leadership — including GE Vernova personnel, contracted services, operating expenditure (OPEX), and capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements — to deliver against strategy milestones.
- Lead cross-functional execution across Sourcing, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Pivot-to-Value (P2V) — driving alignment, accountability, and momentum across all workstreams.
- Drive supplier performance and capacity by implementing continuous improvement practices (lean, standard work, daily management, problem solving, waste elimination) and ensuring sustained delivery against capacity commitments.
- Ensure compliance and risk management across sourcing policy, supplier approval processes, competitive bidding, delegation of authority, and GE Vernova cybersecurity requirements.
- Influence outcomes at the executive level by preparing and presenting strategic recommendations to senior business leadership on current and future sourcing imperatives.
- Partner with Supplier Quality to drive adherence to quality management systems (QMS), reduce supplier defects and process capability gaps, and lower the cost of poor quality (COPQ).
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset paired with hands-on supply chain execution experience — someone equally comfortable building a multi-year sourcing roadmap and driving day-to-day progress across a complex supplier and stakeholder network.
Required
- A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Sourcing, Manufacturing, and/or Supply Chain in an industrial setting.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience in contract negotiation, supplier selection, and contract implementation within a complex manufacturing environment.
- Product and process knowledge in Gas Turbine, Generator, or Steam Turbine commodities — such as investment castings, forgings, combustion components, post-cast machining, or rotor machining.
- Experience developing and executing multi-year sourcing or supply chain strategies.
- Prior people leadership experience.
- Cross-functional background in Engineering, Quality, or Manufacturing.
- Strong quantitative, data analysis, and project management skills.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or APICS certification.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Change Acceleration Process (CAP), Work-Out, or lean/quality frameworks.
