General Summary:
Qualcomm provides complete chipset solution that includes CPU, Modem, Application Processor, Multi-media engines, Interconnect and more. Power is a key area that drives the value of our chips. As fabrication technology node shrinks, and performance requirement become higher, it is crucial to provide power optimized solutions, which is the responsibility of the group that you will be working in.
Key responsibilities are:
- Perform end-to-end competitive analysis investigations, identifying architectural, software, and system-level factors driving power efficiency, performance, thermal behavior, and user experience.
- Analyze platform power at the battery, subsystem, rail, and IP-block levels using lab instrumentation, silicon measurements, traces, logs, and profiling tools to identify optimization opportunities
- Establish competitive targets for power, performance, memory bandwidth, latency, thermal characteristics, and user experience metrics based on market-leading devices.
- Evaluate emerging AI and machine learning workloads, identifying opportunities to improve power efficiency and system performance for next-generation products.
- Generate executive-facing reports and presentations that communicate competitive insights, key findings, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Systems Engineering, Hardware, Software, Power Architecture, Multimedia, AI, and OEM partners to influence future product direction.
- Contribute to development of new benchmarking tools, automation frameworks, data analytics pipelines, and measurement methodologies that improve productivity and analysis quality.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, competitor products, and market directions to proactively identify strategic opportunities and threats.

Minimum Qualifications
· BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
· 5+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry experience in the one or more of the following areas:
- Solid foundation in Electrical Systems Engineering and Digital Logic Design
- Knowledge of system level aspects of low power design
- Ability to analyze power waveforms at core and system level
- Experience with video, camera and low power sub systems (audio, sensors)
- Experience in competitive power/performance benchmarking analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
