Role/ Department:
Consultant, Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) - 1LOD Risk and Resiliency
As part of the First Line of Defense, the RCSA Consultant provides support, governance and oversight for the Northern Trust Businesses in the execution of their RCSA’s. The role supports all Northern Trust business segments including Asset Servicing, Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM), Chief Operating Officer and Corporate functions and will work with partners across all three Lines of Defense.
The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop their Risk and Control skills and Business Unit knowledge whilst also enhancing their internal network through the broad reach of stakeholder engagement at all seniority levels involved in the program.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Manage the RCSA (Risk & Control Self-Assessment) program for specific business units, ensuring adherence to both the framework requirements and committed deadlines.
Coordinate with all the relevant stakeholders involved and ensure their participation in the workshops for an accurate risk and control assessment.
Extensive documentation of the risks and controls discussed in the workshops and in the system of record.
Escalate RCSA project related matter to the relevant manager.
Challenge the risk and control assessment to ensure the integrity of the assessment adheres to the program requirements.
Co-ordinate with partners in both First and Second Lines of Defense to manage issues that arise out of the RCSA or the testing to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Management reporting on all areas related to RCSA.
Proactively identify areas of improvement within the program and initiate discussion with the manager.
Project management – Contributing to the overall project by ensuring that the timelines are met.
Skills/ Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have financial services experience.
Experience in Risk/Control/Audit.
Strong communicator who is comfortable interacting with Partners at all levels
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work on own initiative, as well as collaborate with others.
Strong organizational/planning skills
Experience of using Microsoft 365 Packages, (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI) and SharePoint
