UW Medicine-Harborview- Food and Nutrition has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, Dietary Unit Clerk.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Full-time, day shift
- 7am-3:30pm
- 5 variable days per week
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Nutrition and Food Services department supports Harborview's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Processes all patient menus, including those for the tray line and room service program.
- Coordinates food production according to established menus, answers telephone calls from patients and clinical staff, and prepares records and reports.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Presents and instructs patients and families on the use of the menu and meal ordering process
- Evaluates patients’ ability to participate in the Room Service Program and determines if intervention is needed.
- Asks patients for food allergies or aversions.
- Documents pertinent patient information.
- Delivers meals to patients.
- Inventory and deliver floor pantry supply.
- Maintain cleanliness of pantries and other areas.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment, high school graduation or GED, and one year of experience as a Dietary Unit Aide in a health care facility or equivalent. One year of additional experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
