About the role:
You'll work across the full spectrum of owners corporation work, including:
- Litigated property damage, water ingress, theft, acoustic disturbance, governance and insurance claims.
- Coverage and exposure advice for strata insurers on their owners corporation insureds.
- Owners corporation governance, including statutory compliance, fee levying, rule breaches, repair obligations and dispute management.
- Building defect, cladding and third-party maintenance claims pursued on behalf of owners corporations.
- Advising on the establishment of and changes to owners corporations, including rules, lot liability and entitlements, service contracts, leases and boundaries.
The ideal candidate:
- 3+ years' PQE acting in litigated matters, with demonstrated experience in owners corporation or strata law, particularly in litigated disputes.
- The ability to run a file load autonomously while delegating effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with stakeholders, other parties and the courts.
- Excellent written skills and the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- A genuine interest in developing a career and professional network in the general insurance space.
