Job Impulse is hiring a Grill Cook in Winston Salem, NC. We are hiring for day shit and night shift, please note that this role does involve rotating weekends and holidays.

What You'll Do

• Receive customer food orders and prepare items that require minimal cooking or preparation. Fill orders from steam tables and serve customers at various food service stations as needed.
• Ensure all food is served at appropriate temperatures and meets established standards for appearance, taste, and overall quality.
• Follow approved recipes, food preparation guidelines, and production procedures to maintain consistent quality, proper serving temperatures, and accurate portion sizes.
• Safely transport food pans, kettles, and trays between workstations, cooking areas, and refrigerators while following proper handling and safety procedures.
• Follow established procedures for collecting order tickets and maintaining accurate records for the assigned work area during meal service.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and workstations after food preparation and service in accordance with sanitation requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas, including refrigerators and storage rooms. Properly label, handle, and store food products and supplies according to established guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow maintenance instructions. Notify management of equipment malfunctions or repair needs.
• Follow HACCP food safety guidelines and company policies to protect food quality and prevent contamination. Keep work areas free of clutter, excess products, and dirty pans. Prepare serving lines for service, verify and document food temperatures, and ensure appropriate serving utensils are available. Immediately notify a supervisor, manager, or cook when food temperatures fall outside approved ranges. Serve both hot and cold food items to customers while maintaining food safety standards.
• Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent education and work experience may be considered if the candidate has the skills needed to perform the essential job duties. ServSafe Food Handler certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to read and understand English documents, including safety guidelines, procedural manuals, and equipment operating instructions. Ability to understand verbal directions, write basic correspondence, and communicate effectively with individuals and small groups is required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use a tablet to access recipes, review food preparation instructions, and complete other job-related tasks.
• Must be able to use sound judgment, apply common sense, and follow written and verbal instructions to complete assigned responsibilities.
• The position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, tasting, and smelling. Employees must regularly communicate verbally, hear, see, navigate around people and equipment, handle items with their hands, and reach with their arms.
• Occasional physical activities may include climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Employees must be able to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds; frequently handle up to 50 pounds; and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Visual requirements include close-range vision, color recognition, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Employees frequently work around wet or slippery surfaces. Occasional exposure may include humid conditions, moving machinery, airborne particles, fumes, hazardous or corrosive chemicals, extreme hot or cold temperatures, electrical hazards, and radiation. Noise levels are generally moderate.
