Role Purpose

Zurich Cover-More is seeking a Product Manager for API & Data Management on Project Sirius, our enterprise technology transformation.

The role owns two of Sirius's Phase 1 priority capabilities: the enterprise API library and data and reporting optimization. It also owns the canonical data model that ties our brands, regions and partners together.

The Product Manager treats APIs and data as products. They have consumers, roadmaps, service levels and measurable adoption. The role works with Enterprise Architecture, integration engineering, data platform teams, distribution partners and business stakeholders. It is a product role that owns priorities and outcomes. It is not a hands-on integration developer or data engineer position.

What we ask of you

Function Specific Accountabilities

  1. A. API Product Strategy & Roadmap
  • Own the vision, roadmap and backlog for the Sirius enterprise API library across quote, buy, policy servicing, claims and assistance.
  • Identify and prioritize API consumers: internal channels, Freely, partners, airlines, travel agents, banks and aggregators.
  • Define API products with clear value, service levels, versioning and deprecation policies.
  • Track API adoption, reuse and partner onboarding time as product outcomes.
  1. B. API Design Standards & Lifecycle
  • Set API standards with Enterprise Architecture: naming, REST and event conventions, error models, security and versioning.
  • Run an API lifecycle from discovery and design review through publishing, monitoring and retirement.
  • Make sure APIs are documented, discoverable and testable through a developer portal and catalogue.
  • Drive partner self-service onboarding: sandbox access, credentials, test data and certification.
  1. C. Integration Platform & MuleSoft
  • Act as product owner for API delivery on MuleSoft, working with integration engineering and the SI partner.
  • Coordinate across the three MuleSoft estates: Zurich Group ConnectZ, Zurich North America and Cover-More IT.
  • Support the decision on where the canonical model and shared APIs run, including a possible move to ConnectZ.
  • Define reuse patterns so regions and brands stop building point-to-point integrations.
  1. D. Canonical Data Model & Data Management
  • Own the canonical data model for core domains: customer, policy, product, quote, claim, partner and payment.
  • Establish master and reference data management for products, partners, geographies and code sets.
  • Define data ownership, stewardship and quality rules with business domain owners.
  • Make sure data lineage and definitions are consistent across APIs, the data platform and reports.
  1. E. Data Platform, Reporting & Insights
  • Own the backlog for data and reporting optimization: ingestion, curated data products and self-service reporting.
  • Reduce duplicate and conflicting reports across brands and regions; agree one source for core metrics.
  • Partner with analytics, pricing and finance on the data products they need, such as conversion, loss ratio and partner performance.
  • Prioritize near-real-time data where it drives decisions, such as pricing, fraud and customer service.
  1. F. Governance, Privacy & Security
  • Build privacy, consent and data residency requirements into API and data design for each region (GDPR, Australian Privacy Act, CCPA and similar).
  • Work with InfoSec on API authentication, authorization, rate limiting and threat protection.
  • Support data classification, retention and access controls with Risk and Compliance.
  1. G. Delivery & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as Product Owner for the API & Data pods: write epics and acceptance criteria, run sprint reviews and accept work.
  • Manage stakeholders across distribution, digital, claims, finance, data, architecture and regional IT.
  • Report progress, adoption, risks and benefits to the Program Manager and Sirius governance forums.
  1. Regulatory and Compliance Support
  • Build privacy, consent and data residency requirements into API and data design for each region (GDPR, Australian Privacy Act, CCPA and similar).
  • Support data classification, retention and access controls with Risk and Compliance.

Communication

  • Ensure all contact and interactions are of the highest standards, communicating clearly and appropriately to all stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including experience of management reporting and presentation.
  1. Consumer Duty
  • You must always act to deliver good outcomes for our customers by putting customers at the heart of what you do.  This includes acting in good faith to customers; avoiding causing foreseeable customer harm; supporting customers in their financial objectives; and calling out if you see practices that conflict with this.

Cover-More Values

Optimism

  1. It’s time to concentrate on what we can do to make things better. We embrace the language of optimism because we let our hopes, our talent and our dreams shape our future. We don’t worry people, we excite and motivate them. We communicate with reassuring confidence, simple clarity and optimism grounded in expertise and ingenuity. What’s ahead is very different to what got us here. And without optimism, people worry about life, travel plans are forgotten, businesses don’t get created, talented people don’t get hired and good ideas disappear without trace. So we look to hope, positivity and making better. Because that is where we see our collective future.
  2.

Caring

  1. Caring and protecting are at the heart of who we are and what we do. We’re here to make a positive difference in the lives of our customers, partners, colleagues and the world we live in. We care about inspiring confidence and we care about helping our customers and each other. Always. We want to protect life’s journeys and make them the best they can be. To protect the moments yet to be shared. And the memories yet to be made.

Reliability

  1. Trust can only be earned through reliability and delivering on the promises we make. By being honest and transparent. By being there when our customers, our partners and our colleagues need us most. We are experts in what we do, that’s why we don’t shout, we don’t boast, we convince. We choose action over words any time, because our actions define our reliability. We stand by what we stand for.

Determination

  1. Determination is about never giving up, even when things get tough. It is our commitment towards doing the right thing—even if that comes at a cost. We know that difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. So, we will always choose the difficult path in our sheer determination to be exceptional, agile, forward thinking, and successful. And unforgettable to our customers. Our customers know we will go that extra mile so that they can too.

Togetherness

  1. We are one collective global group. Not them and us. Just us. We can only create a brighter future by working together. By reaching across international borders and internal boundaries. Togetherness is about acknowledging that none of us can have a bigger impact than all of us together. For us, togetherness is not thinking less of ourselves, but about thinking of ourselves less.
