Position Purpose: Support the mission of Minnesota State University Moorhead's School of Science by teaching physics courses to majors and nonmajors. This teaching assignment includes both lecture and laboratory components, totaling up to 12 credits.

Responsibilities:

• Teach PHYS 161; Physics with algebra, Lecture and Lab
• Teach PHYS 322; Modern Physics; Lecture
• Effectively engage and communicate with students in the course
• Mentor Learning Assistants

Salary Range: $1,888 per credit

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in physics or related field.
• Prior undergraduate teaching experience in Physics
• Effective oral and written communication skills 
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for undergraduate learners with diverse backgrounds and levels of previous experience and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:  

 

• Doctorate degree in physics or related field
• Evidence of successful teaching in physics
• Experience with computational methods and the Python programming environment

Other Requirements:

• The successful candidate must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States by the day employment begins. The University regrets that we are unable to offer H1-B sponsorship at this time.
