About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Data Lead to join MediaTroopers in Malta for a 6-month temporary maternity cover position, with the possibility of extension.

This is more than a team management role. We are looking for a data leader who understands the business end to end, connects insights across departments, and turns data into meaningful business decisions.

You will lead the Data team, oversee reporting and business intelligence, and drive the development of internal tools and automation to improve efficiency. You will also introduce AI solutions to reduce manual work, optimise workflows, and support better decision-making. Working closely with Marketing, Finance, Sales, and other departments, you will deliver reliable data, proactive insights, and scalable solutions that support business growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Provide strategic data insights by identifying business trends, risks, and opportunities across departments. 

• Connect and analyse data from Marketing, Finance, Sales, and other teams to support business decisions and present findings during business reviews. 

• Lead and manage the Data team, including meetings, one-to-ones, performance reviews, and workload allocation. 

• Manage and prioritise reporting requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. 

• Oversee data collection, reporting processes, and new-campaign ramp-ups. 

• Maintain and document data sources, internal tools, and workflows. 

• Oversee the development, maintenance, and quality of reports and dashboards for internal teams and external partners. 

• Translate business needs into technical solutions, managing requirements, development, deployment, QA, and version control. 

• Develop and maintain automations using Power Automate, Monday.com, Outlook and Python. 

• Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and lower outsourcing costs. 

• Maintain technical documentation, user guides, and release notes. management. 

• Connect data across departments (Marketing, Finance, Sales, etc.) to provide a unified view of business performance and present insights and recommendations during business reviews. 

• Act as the company's senior data lead, proactively identifying business trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement through data analysis. 

Requirements 

• 1–2 years of experience managing a data team. 

• 2 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and dashboard development  

• Experience with training, onboarding, AI tools, and workflow optimisation  

• Ability to present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management. 

• Excellent communication, organisational, documentation, and data quality skills. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. 

• Working knowledge of Python and tools such as Power Automate, and Monday.com (or similar). 

• Hands-on experience with internal tools, web applications, and process automation. 

• Experience managing reporting requests, priorities, and deadlines while ensuring data accuracy. 

• Strong business mindset, with the ability to identify trends, generate insights, and support decision-making.
