JOB SUMMARY

Provides guests with friendly enthusiastic, yet professional and timely service when preparing quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Take and place order, and serve and garnish food and drinks efficiently and accurately in work area as applicable

· Collect money, while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures

· Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and the appearance of the front and back of house, clear tables and counters; sweep and maintain the cleanliness of the dining area without interfering with the comfort of guests

· Pack and complete order as per guests' preference with any necessary condiments

· Properly label and date products per safety and sanitation procedures

· Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment

· Stock and replenish products as needed in work station, counters, tables, etc.

· Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds. 

· Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft

· Perform other job-related duties as requested

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel. 

· Knowledge of menu items, including mixing and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies and equipment

· Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators and coolers, slicers and beverage machines

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

· Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

· Must possess basic computer skills.

· Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.

· Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation. 

· Inform supervisor of any problems or complaints.

· Responsible for the proper handling of all equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.

· Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for majority of shift. 

· Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.

· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

· Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

· Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including, but not limited to, coffee machine and 

AVAILABILITY

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day.   At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed work day, to include Holidays, or time of work if business or task assignments demand.  In addition, it should be understood that business needs determines the amount of hours that you work.
