POSITION OVERVIEW
At BDC, the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs, your work contributes directly to the success of small and medium-sized businesses across Canada. As a KYC Analyst, you will provide administrative and analytical support to the Financing team by managing the Know Your Client (KYC) process for loan applications. You will review client files, gather and analyze KYC documentation, identify potential compliance concerns, and work closely with the Business Development Lead (BDL) and Underwriter to ensure complete and accurate submissions. CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Lead the KYC process from end to end, ensuring the timely collection, review, analysis, and validation of required KYC documentation.
- Review customer files to understand the overall financing request and identify missing information or documentation.
- Analyze KYC information and documentation to identify potential non-compliance issues, risks, or concerns.
- Escalate KYC-related findings and concerns to the Business Development Lead (BDL) as required.
- Follow up directly with clients to obtain required information and documentation.
- Manage multiple KYC files simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development Lead, Underwriter, and internal partners to ensure all KYC requirements are met.
- Submit complete and error-free KYC documentation in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide timely, accurate, and professional service to existing and prospective clients.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Stay up to date on changes to KYC policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry trends that may impact BDC.
- Support BDC's commitment to delivering a high-quality experience to Canadian entrepreneurs.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Client service orientation with the ability to listen, identify issues, and support resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to review, analyze, and validate KYC documentation and information.
- Availability to work on-site a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting KYC (Know Your Client), compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), customer due diligence (CDD), or lending-related processes.
- Experience working in a financial services, banking, lending, or commercial financing environment.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Bilingualism in English and French
