Role: Cook
Shift: 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Pay: $17.50/hr

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant settings, dietary departments, or catering services. This role involves preparing meals, planning menus, and ensuring that all food handling practices meet health and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu plans.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the cooking process.
- Handle food items with care, ensuring proper storage and handling techniques are followed.
- Collaborate with dietary aides and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages as needed.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe cooking environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant, dietary department, or catering setting is preferred. (2-5 years)
- Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling practices.
- Proficiency with kitchen tools, including knives and cooking equipment.
- Skilled in basic cuts, i.e., julienne, batonnet, chiffonade, brunoise, etc.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- A passion for cooking and creating high-quality meals that meet dietary needs.
