The Quality Engineer will be responsible for acting as the first-line representative for all quality matters with strategic customers and driving continuous improvement across the product family. The successful candidate will support and lead Quality Engineers and Technicians, and will play a central part in maintaining and advancing the organization’s quality standards in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

This position reports to the Quality Manager and is part of the Quality team located in Redruth, Cornwall, and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support the management and improvement of key quality performance metrics, including First Pass Yield (FPY) and Customer Complaints, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives across the product family.

• Assist with customer-facing quality activities, including quality communications, complaint investigations, CAPA management, technical reviews, and support during customer and regulatory audits.

• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and effectiveness of quality systems and programmes, including the Certified Operator Program, DBS, and QMS requirements.

• Apply structured problem-solving techniques, such as Danaher PSP and 8D methodologies, to investigate and resolve quality issues while supporting cross-functional improvement projects and Quality Kaizen events.

• Support quality planning and compliance activities throughout the product lifecycle, including New Product Introduction (NPI), DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP/APQP processes, and the preparation of technical reports and presentations on quality performance.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a closely related discipline.

• Understanding of quality principles and manufacturing processes.

• Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

• Eagerness to learn structured quality methodologies and industry tools.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or another highly regulated industry

• Exposure to quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, or similar through academic projects or work experience.

• Exposure to quality management standards such as AS9100/ISO 9001.

• Occasional travel to other sites and customer locations will be required.

• Applicants must hold a valid, clean UK Driving Licence.

• A willingness to work reasonable overtime in line with business needs.
