POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Student Financial Services, the Associate Director serves as the administrative oversight for student accounts and financial aid. This position requires knowledge of Title IV processes and regulatory requirements. This position ensures high standards of compliance to regulations, accuracy of data, and financial stewardship in the reporting and collecting of receivables and administration of financial aid.

Position Specific Responsibilities
 
  • Oversee all activities associated with the student billing, student communications, collections, write-offs, Software Evaluation and installation, software update and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with regulations and achieving departmental goals.
  • Help oversee all systems and software implementation, updates, and improvements to ensure there is maximization of all systems.
  • Help oversee full-service financial aid processing, including document collection, budgeting, awarding, FAFSA verification, and loan certification for college related programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Work closely with Admissions and Registrar on all issues related to Student Accounts or Financial Aid to deliver an excellent experience for the student and to pinpoint any areas of improvement.
  • Respond to questions regarding financial aid awards and documentation; ensure communication is accurate regarding Title IV and VA processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage processes related to the disbursement of funds and return of Title IV calculations ensuring compliance with DOE regulations.
  • Manage Veteran Affairs education benefits program for veteran students with benefits, including annual re-certification of The King’s ability to participate in the education benefits program.
  • Manage the VA certification process to ensure students receive timely funding.
  • Assist in month-end close and year-end audits to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Assist the Director of Student Financial Services with the development of policies and procedures for
the department to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and efficiencies of process.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience with financial aid regulations.
  • 5- 7 years of experience in collections.
  • Accounting experience preferred
  • NASFAA Credentials preferred
    • Experience with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
