Our client, a prestigious luxury East African safari company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of new safari camps, lodges, and infrastructure developments across Africa.
Working closely with the Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating projects from planning through to completion, ensuring developments are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Project Manager with all aspects of new development projects across multiple African locations.
- Assist with sourcing local contractors, suppliers, materials, and specialist services.
- Coordinate logistics, transportation, procurement, and importation of equipment and materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, authorities, and service providers.
- Assist with on-site project coordination, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, schedules, purchase orders, and maintain accurate project records.
- Coordinate meetings, track action items, and provide strong administrative support throughout each project.
- Resolve day-to-day project issues proactively and assist in ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in project coordination or assistant project management, ideally within construction, hospitality, tourism, or remote developments.
- Highly organised with excellent administrative and coordination skills.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and able to work effectively in challenging and remote environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse cultures.
- Experience with procurement, logistics, and supplier coordination is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project administration.
- Willingness to travel extensively and spend time at project sites throughout Africa.
