Position Summary
As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and products from suppliers by developing, implementing, and auditing quality standards and processes. This role provides technical guidance to suppliers, coordinates qualification testing, and drives root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues. The engineer also prepares technical documentation, maintains quality assurance programs, and supports supplier development to meet engineering and regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
- Oversee supplier quality for materials and products, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and audit supplier quality standards, inspection methods, and process controls, including ISO-9001 and statistical process control.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers, coordinate qualification testing, and support part certification and new source development.
- Track and analyze failure trends, drive root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and communicate high-priority issues to management.
- Prepare and review technical quality documents, maintain quality assurance programs, and mentor less experienced staff to improve team competence.
Basic Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field 3 years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field +1 year of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering, OR
- Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field, OR
- JD/PhD in Business, Engineering, or related field, OR
- 5+ years of experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering in lieu of a degree

Preferred Requirements:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent, and/or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified.
- Lead Auditor certification (e.g., ISO-9001 or similar).
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and use of related gauges.
- Experience translating engineering drawings and specifications into quality planning and PPAP.
- Willingness and ability to travel to supplier and customer sites.
