This strategic leadership role partners closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Shared Service Centers, and business stakeholders to drive compliance, financial reporting excellence, strong internal controls, and operational effectiveness. The role is accountable for supporting business growth, mitigating risk, and developing high-performing finance teams across a complex multinational environment.

The Director, Accounting & Controlling – Latin America will provide leadership and oversight for accounting, controllership, treasury, compliance, and financial reporting activities across the region. Working in partnership with global and regional stakeholders, this role will ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal control frameworks, and company policies.
The position is responsible for managing relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, banking partners, and legal advisors while supporting business objectives through accurate financial reporting, effective risk management, and sound governance practices. This leader will play a critical role in strengthening organizational capabilities, developing finance talent, and driving continuous improvement across regional finance operations.
Where You'll Make a Difference
- Lead accounting and controllership activities across Latin America, ensuring consistent execution of financial processes and governance standards.
- Oversee general accounting operations, including management and coordination of Shared Service Center activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, local statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain and strengthen the internal control environment, including SOX compliance and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings and recommendations.
- Partner with Tax teams to manage tax reporting obligations, audits, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Oversee regional treasury activities, including banking relationships, cash management, and adherence to global treasury policies.
- Lead balance sheet and P&L review processes, proactively identifying risks, explaining variances, and driving corrective actions.
- Coach, develop, and mentor finance professionals while building succession plans and strengthening organizational capabilities.
What Makes You the Right Fit
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification with active certification.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within multinational organizations.
- Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and regional accounting standards is required.
- Deep understanding of accounting, controllership, financial reporting, and compliance requirements across Latin America.
- Proven experience leading SOX compliance, internal controls, governance, and audit activities.
- Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax regulations and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience working with SAP and/or other ERP platforms within complex multi-country environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and either Portuguese or Spanish required.
