Team
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Tax Manager to lead the organization's APAC tax function. This role is responsible for overseeing APAC corporate tax compliance, tax planning, transfer pricing, tax reporting, and ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders to manage tax risks while supporting business growth through effective tax strategies.
Role- Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance
- Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of all APAC corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, and other statutory tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
- Manage tax audits, investigations, and correspondence with tax authorities.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax changes and assess their impact on the business.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Provide tax advice on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, new business initiatives, and cross-border transactions.
- Review contracts and business arrangements to identify tax implications and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Financial Reporting
- Oversee tax accounting and reporting in accordance with IFRS or local GAAP.
- Review quarterly and annual tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and tax disclosures.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during statutory and tax audits.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate tax risks across the organization.
- Strengthen internal tax controls and governance processes.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained to support tax positions.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, Procurement, and business units to provide tax guidance.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tax processes and operational efficiency.
What you’ll bring
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CA, or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) is preferred.
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in taxation, including corporate tax, indirect tax, and international taxation.
Experience in a Big Four accounting firm and/or multinational corporation is highly preferred.
Proven experience managing tax audits and tax planning initiatives.
Prior experience leading and developing teams.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of corporate tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and international tax regulations.
Familiarity with IFRS and tax accounting principles.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of tax technology and automation tools is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership, coaching, and project management skills.
