The Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide advanced administrative and legal support to our prosecuting attorneys. You'll be an essential member of the prosecution team by:
- Preparing, proofreading, and processing legal documents for criminal, juvenile, traffic, and related court proceedings
- Managing attorney calendars, scheduling hearings, and tracking court deadlines
- Maintaining electronic and paper case files using case management and e-filing systems
- Coordinating with attorneys, law enforcement, courts, and partner agencies throughout the life of a case
- Responding to inquiries from the public and criminal justice partners while providing exceptional customer service
- Maintaining confidential records and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical requirements
- Assisting with case intake, document preparation, and office operations to keep cases moving efficiently

- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field preferred)
- Three (3) years of experience in a District Attorney's Office preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience preparing legal or highly confidential documents
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including document management and electronic filing systems
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals experiencing stressful situations
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team
