Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural / Bridges Engineer with a minimum of 12 years of bridge engineering experience, specializing in the design, site supervision, and delivery of steel bridge structures for major transportation and urban infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the RCRC Bridges Program in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributing to the planning, design, technical coordination, construction supervision, and delivery of complex bridge and highway infrastructure works.
Candidates with direct experience in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, or the wider GCC region will be highly preferred.
Your role
- Lead the design, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures across all project phases, from concept and preliminary design through detailed design, construction supervision, and project closeout.
- Develop innovative and practical bridge engineering solutions for complex urban transportation corridors and highway networks.
- Coordinate bridge designs with multidisciplinary teams, including highways, utilities, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and construction disciplines.
- Perform structural analysis, design calculations, technical reviews, and independent design verification.
- Provide construction support services, including responding to technical queries, reviewing shop drawings, method statements, temporary works proposals, and material submittals.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Review contractor submissions and oversee bridge construction, erection, launching, rehabilitation, strengthening, and maintenance works.
- Identify and resolve design and construction issues arising during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, Saudi regulations, and international bridge design standards such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, and relevant local codes.
- Support stakeholder engagement and coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility agencies, and government authorities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within bridge design and supervision teams.
About you
Preferred Project Experience (Riyadh / GCC Focus)
The ideal candidate should demonstrate substantial experience in:
- Major urban transportation and highway infrastructure projects.
- Large-scale bridge developments in Riyadh, KSA, or comparable GCC cities.
- Congested urban corridors, grade separations, flyovers, underpasses, and complex interchange systems.
- Structural steel bridges, composite bridges, pedestrian bridges, and elevated roadway structures.
- Bridge rehabilitation, strengthening, widening, replacement, and asset improvement programs.
- Construction supervision and site-based delivery of bridge projects, including contractor management and quality oversight.
- Design coordination and stakeholder management on high-profile infrastructure projects.
- Interface management with utilities, traffic diversions, temporary works, and construction sequencing within live urban environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 12 years of experience in bridge engineering, with significant exposure to steel bridge design and construction supervision.
- Proven experience delivering bridge projects within Saudi Arabia and/or the GCC region.
- Strong knowledge of bridge analysis and design software such as MIDAS Civil, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, RM Bridge, or SOFiSTiK.
- Experience with international bridge design standards and Saudi regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
- Professional Engineering Chartership or equivalent accreditation is desirable.
