SITE PROJECT MANAGER – LUXURY SAFARI DEVELOPMENTS (AFRICA)

EAST AFRICA / SOUTH AFRICA (REMOTE)

Our client, a leading luxury East African safari company, is seeking an experienced Site Project Manager to oversee the development of new safari camps, lodges, and related infrastructure across Africa.

This is a hands-on role requiring an adaptable, resourceful individual who thrives in remote locations and can successfully deliver projects from inception through to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all aspects of new development projects from planning through to handover.
• Source local contractors, suppliers, materials, and specialist services.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with local communities, authorities, and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate logistics, transportation, procurement, and the importation of equipment and materials.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and progress, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Resolve challenges proactively in often remote and developing environments.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, environmental standards, and company policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience managing construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within hospitality, tourism, or remote developments.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and solve problems in challenging environments.
• Experience sourcing local resources and managing procurement and logistics.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures and supply chain coordination is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively and spend extended periods at remote project sites across Africa.
