Derby or Solihull / Hybrid (3 office days a week)

An exciting opportunity has become available for a VP In-Contract Excellence to join Rolls-Royce Aerospace Procurement. The role reports to the SVP - Design Make within Procurement and can be based at one of our sites in Derby or Solihull.  

Our VP In- Contract Excellence will be accountable for leading a team of Procurement professionals to ensure that Rolls-Royce executes our supplier contracts and long-term agreements to the highest standard – ensuring the expected value delivered from the contract is achieved and that both our operational and cost targets are achieved.                                             

What you will be doing:

VP In- Contract Excellence will:  

  • Drive a high performing team to deliver optimal cost and operational value from our supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.                                                     
  • Accountable for all defined sourcing activities, ensuring they meet business needs within established timelines.                                                        
  • Identify and execute opportunities to achieve cost reductions and additional benefits from existing supplier contracts enhancing overall value                                                
  • Lead engagement with engineering, manufacturing operations and other business teams to identify and facilitate new opportunities for cost reductions and operational improvement.                               
  • Ensure the timely and favourable resolution of supplier disputes, claims and contractual remedies.
  • Lead strategic procurement initiatives that support the successful execution of transfers, major projects, and product changes.                
  • Lead the procurement accountabilities and performance metrics within the Rolls-Royce Supplier Engagement and Performance Framework, including the management of supplier cost scorecards.
  • Ensure the timely resolution of any commercial or cost issues that could impact operational activities or the ability to achieve financial targets.                                           
  • Coordinate the team to effectively support product change activities such as modifications or prototyping activities, ensuring the best commercial terms and supplier performance is achieved.                           
  • Deliver long term cost improvement in all relevant activities in line with business plans, including leveraging cost reductions across category group strategic spend suppliers, and mitigating arising cost headwinds                                                     
  • Direct spend within category/value stream and set, communicate and ensure delivery of cost plans, while delivering a sustainable supply chain, contributing to overall global procurement targets   
  • Ensure that all in-contract ESG requirements, including but not limited to sustainability, legislative requirements and ethical working policies, are upheld by our supply chain, maintaining Rolls-Royce’s commitment to responsible procurement.                                           

Preferred requirements:

The successful candidate will have experience in:-  

  • Leading procurement activities in a complex supply chain with an understanding of Procurement best practices. 
  • Supplier relationship management experience with the ability to deliver value.
  • Aftermarket experience.
  • Cost management and negotiation.
  • Risk management.
  • Contract and category management experience.
  • Working across areas of the business to manage stakeholders and influence. 
  • Strategy development experience.
  • Strong data analytic skills.
