Description

Toxicology Expert

Kaiseraugst, Switzerland or Tulln, Austria

Be the safety expert who protects both products and people. As our Toxicology Expert, you'll be providing toxicological expertise within our Regulatory Affairs team —where your expertise shapes product safety strategies during R&D and champions workplace health across our production facilities. From designing preclinical testing programs to conducting workplace exposure assessments, you'll ensure the highest safety standards for millions of consumers and our colleagues. If you thrive working independently, love solving complex safety challenges, and want to make a dual impact, this is your opportunity.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of preclinical testing strategies aligned with worldwide regulatory requirements and internal liability standards for product registration.
  • Provide expert toxicological support for safety assessments, regulatory submissions, workplace risk assessments, and product stewardship activities. Lead exposure evaluations, develop risk mitigation strategies, and contribute to SHE documentation in close collaboration with SHE teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support SHE initiatives by providing toxicological expertise for workplace safety assessments, exposure evaluations in production environments, and risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with our SHE team.
  • Manage toxicological studies end-to-end—from planning and outsourcing to monitoring, evaluating, and reporting results for regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare comprehensive safety assessments and safety sections for registration dossiers, workplace risk assessments, and SHE documentation with precision and scientific rigor.
  • Serve as the key toxicology partner to SHE, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Product Management, R&D, and Project Teams on all safety matters and build and maintain strategic scientific networks e.g. regulatory bodies, institutions, national toxicological societies and health organizations.

We offer

  • Opportunity to build a career making a significant impact on billions of lives, with the freedom to shape your own path
  • Multifunctional collaboration with Regulatory Affairs, SHE, Quality, Product Management, Marketing, Sustainability, and project teams
  • Empowerment to make meaningful contributions while upholding ethical standards
  • Recognition and celebration of your efforts and accomplishments.
  • Responsibility and accountability in living company values and driving sustainable solutions
  • Supportive environment where individuals are empowered to progress and contribute to meaningful change.

You bring

  • A strong sense of accountability and independence—you take initiative, speak up, and see projects through to completion, thriving as the toxicology expert in the organization.
  • Proven expertise in toxicology with a focus on regulatory affairs and/or occupational health & safety (SHE) applications in industrial settings.
  • Advanced degree (PhD strongly preferred) in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or related life sciences discipline.
  • Experience in preclinical testing, regulatory safety assessments, workplace exposure evaluations, or hazard communication for chemical substances.
  • Exceptional analytical and scientific English reading and writing skills (working language), with the ability to translate complex toxicological data into clear, actionable safety assessments for diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative spirit—you're at your best when working across teams, functions, and countries via digital collaboration tools (Teams, etc.).
