About Global Case Management team

The People Culture & Communications, Global Case Management (GCM) team is in Telstra's Human Resources function. We partner with leaders across the business to manage employee workplace matters while balancing commercial outcomes, employee wellbeing, legal obligations and organisational risk.

Our team provides expert support across complex employee relations matters, including employee conduct, workplace behaviour, performance management, health and medical matters. We lead some of Telstra's most sensitive and high-risk workplace investigations from commencement to resolution, including whistleblower disclosures, discrimination, bullying, harassment, victimisation and other significant employee concerns. We also manage Fair Work Commission matters, such as unfair dismissal applications and other workplace relations disputes, partnering with leaders and stakeholders to deliver fair, defensible and commercially sound outcomes. We are a highly collaborative, high-performing team that values sound judgement, customer advocacy, procedural fairness and continuous improvement.

About the Role

This is not a generalist HR role.

As an HR Advisor within Global Case Management, you will manage complex and sensitive employee matters and workplace investigations across Telstra. You will partner with leaders to navigate sensitive and high-risk situations, conduct investigations, assess evidence, identify risk and deliver fair, defensible and commercially sound outcomes.

The role requires strong investigation capability, sound judgement and the ability to confidently manage matters involving misconduct, workplace behaviour, medical incapacity, domestic and family violence, whistleblower disclosures, Fair Work matters and other sensitive employee relations issues.

You will work closely with leaders, Health Management, People Solutions and other specialist stakeholders to support the resolution of workplace matters whilst maintaining procedural fairness, confidentiality and compliance with employment legislation and organisational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management

Lead and support workplace investigations involving:

  • Employee misconduct and serious misconduct.
    • Workplace behaviour concerns.
    • Bullying, harassment, discrimination & victimisation (DBHV) complaints, and other high-risk employee relations matters.
    • Whistleblower disclosures and investigations.
    • Conduct witness and subject interviews.
    • Analyse evidence and determine findings based on fact and evidence.
    • Prepare high-quality investigation reports, recommendations and outcome documentation.
    • Ensure procedural fairness and natural justice principles are applied throughout all investigations.
  • Support leaders to conduct, performance, medical incapacity and attendance matters.
  • Analyse evidence and prepare high-quality investigation reports, findings and recommendations.
  • Coach and influence leaders through complex employee relations matters.
  • Assess legal, reputational, operational and wellbeing risks and provide pragmatic recommendations.
  • Partner with Legal and other specialist stakeholders on sensitive and high-risk matters.
  • Represent and support the organisation in Fair Work Commission and other external tribunal matters, including unfair dismissal applications.
  • Maintain high-quality case records, documentation and governance standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, training and capability uplift across Global Case Management and the organisation.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations in a large or complex organisation.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations from commencement through to outcome.
  • Experience leading workplace behaviour matters, including bullying, harassment, discrimination & victimisation (DBHV) complaints.
  • Experience leading whistleblower investigations or similarly sensitive investigative matters.
  • Experience managing domestic and family violence workplace matters.
  • Experience supporting conduct, performance and medical incapacity matters.
  • Experience supporting or managing Fair Work Commission matters, including unfair dismissal applications.
  • Exceptional interviewing, evidence assessment and report-writing skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
  • The ability to make sound decisions in complex, high-risk and emotionally charged situations.
  • A commitment to procedural fairness, confidentiality and positive outcomes.
