About The Role:
The Bar Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar, assisting the General Manager and Assistant General Manager with day-to-day front-of-house operations. With a primary focus on delivering a hospitable experience for guests and fostering a positive environment for staff, this role oversees the planning, training, and organization of bar employees, along with set-up, opening, and closing procedures.
What You Will Do
Ensure the brand and guest experience align with the concept vision.
Oversee the daily operations of the bar, ensuring smooth service and high customer satisfaction.
Supervise and enhance the customer experience at the bar, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Be present on the floor during service — touching tables, building guest relationships, and driving repeat business.
Ensure that set-up, opening, and closing procedures are followed to maintain operational excellence.
Provide hands-on support to bartenders during peak hours, assisting with customer service and drink preparation.
Manage bar staff on a day-to-day basis, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations; handle guest inquiries and escalate issues accordingly.
Handle administrative duties such as ordering, scheduling, inventory management, waste control, payroll, and other related tasks.
Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies to management.
Coordinate with the kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service during peak hours and events.
Plan and execute special events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to increase bar revenue.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bar area and back-of-house areas, and confirm all equipment is in good working condition.
Adhere to and oversee compliance with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies, including Department of Health and company standards.
Certify that all drinks are prepared according to restaurant standards.
Control cash and other receipts in accordance with the company's accounting guidelines.
Communicate clearly and concisely with back-of-house employees and management during service.
Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork among staff.
Anticipate and accommodate guest needs, providing professional and exceptional service to ensure satisfaction.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
About You:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant environment.
Minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
Previous experience opening an upscale, full-service restaurant with a proven track record of providing the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction.
Extensive knowledge of bar lifecycles and setup, spirits, cocktail ingredients, and garnishes.
Familiarity with alcohol service and food safety standards, including DOH protocols.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Friendly, professional, and outgoing demeanor with a polished appearance and the ability to exceed guest expectations.
Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with high standards for cleanliness of workspace and service areas.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Compensation range: 70,000 – 80,000 per year
