About the role
As Director Back-End Strategy you will play a key role in shaping Nexperia’s long-term Back-End Manufacturing and OSAT Strategy. You will be responsible for developing strategic roadmaps, evaluating manufacturing models, and providing insights that support critical business decisions.
This role will focus on driving strategic initiatives related to manufacturing footprint optimization, make-or-buy assessments, external manufacturing partnerships, and investment decisions. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, Technology, Finance, Purchasing, and Corporate Strategy to strengthen Nexperia’s global manufacturing competitiveness.
This is a high-impact role where you will influence the future direction of Nexperia’s Back-End Manufacturing and contribute directly to the company’s growth strategy and future competitiveness.
What you will do
- Shape the long-term Back-End Manufacturing and OSAT Strategy aligned with Nexperia’s business growth objectives.
- Lead strategic initiatives including make-or-buy assessments, manufacturing footprint optimization, capacity planning, and investment evaluations.
- Evaluate and recommend opportunities for external manufacturing partnerships, supplier ecosystems, and outsourcing strategies.
- Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and business case development to support executive decision-making.
- Translate complex operational and business data into clear strategic recommendations for senior leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Groups, Back-End Operations, External Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Technology Development, and Corporate Strategy to drive high-impact strategic initiatives
- Drive strategic projects that improve manufacturing flexibility, cost competitiveness, and long-term supply resilience.
- Present recommendations and strategic updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Monitor semiconductor industry trends, OSAT developments, and emerging manufacturing opportunities.
What you will need
- University degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Strategy or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in strategy, semiconductor manufacturing, consulting, operations strategy, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor back-end manufacturing, assembly & test operations, or OSAT ecosystems is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, manufacturing footprint decisions, outsourcing strategies, or make-or-buy assessments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop business cases and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Experience working with senior leadership and managing complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a global environment with multicultural teams.
- Willingness to travel internationally if required to engage with manufacturing sites, OSAT partners, suppliers, and industry events.
