Tech Product Owner role is responsible for overseeing technology solution design, delivery of tech products to enable the realization of business outcomes, as well as the smooth transition into BAU and Technology Run & Maintain teams.
The role will also lead the Technology solution architecture design of the FFP Actuarial Workstream, covering the implementation of the new Pathwise platform as well as the delivery of the fully integrated data platforms supporting the actuaries. They will also be responsible for driving technology delivery into the group treasury space supporting the firms capital management processes. The individual will collaborate with the Group Head actuary, FFP program team and the group treasury function other DPS finance product teams group functions and LBU technology teams to help build and drive the strategies across the Actuary and Treasury Finance functions. This role will require a strong understanding of both technology (Modern data platforms, Cloud and AI) and the business domains (i.e. Insurance Actuarial modelling and results production processes, IFRS 17, Treasury).
Role and Responsibilities
- Be accountability of solution design recommendations, ensure alignment to global tech standards and roadmap, justification for recommendation in terms of business benefits and alignment to technology roadmap outcomes.
- Provide timely and concise updates to Head of DPS Enterprise Functions and various Program Steering and governance committees
- Lead and motivate diverse teams of technical specialists
- Understand and analyze business requirements and translate into tech solution design ideas
- Oversee Technology Architecture Design (Application, integration, infrastructure) across all platforms supporting the actuarial and treasury domains
- Facilitate collaboration between business (Finance / Actuarial/ Treasury) and technology stakeholders effectively in the co-creation of tech solution design ideas.
- Coordinating effectively with tech delivery leads in the planning, execution of tech product delivery and transition to Run team post go-live.
- Build effective relationships with the other DPS domains, Infrastructure teams, and Data Office
- Effective management of diverse teams, comprising of internal and external resources
Qualifications
- Experience Level: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience and proven track record within Insurance sectors
- Education Level: Bachelor’s degree (2:1 honor or higher) or equivalent level
- Personal Attributes: Strong analytical skills, leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability
Mandatory skills
- Strong knowledge of the Actuarial and Treasury business functions as they relate to the Insurance industry.
- Data architecture and modern data management platforms and how they are used.
- Cloud architecture design
- Technology delivery project management experience
- Team leadership and management qualities
- Effective communication skills – written, verbal and presentation to senior stakeholders and large audiences
- Awareness of Actuarial modelling and results production processes
