Position Summary
The Guest Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the guest room housekeeping team to ensure all guest rooms, corridors, and assigned public areas consistently meet the hotel's standards for cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction. This position supervises Room Attendants, conducts quality inspections, coordinates room readiness with the Front Office, and promotes exceptional service through effective leadership, training, and operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Housekeeping Operations
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and assigned public areas to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness, presentation, and quality standards.
- Assign daily work schedules, room assignments, and special projects to Room Attendants.
- Monitor room status throughout the day and coordinate with the Front Office to maximize room availability and timely guest check-ins.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly stocked with linens, amenities, and required supplies.
- Verify that VIP, stayover, checkout, and special-request rooms are completed according to established standards.
- Assist with room cleaning duties as needed during peak business periods or staffing shortages.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, motivate, and support Room Attendants and housekeeping staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Monitor employee productivity, attendance, and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company housekeeping standards, brand requirements, and service expectations.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify opportunities for improvement in cleanliness and operational efficiency.
- Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Investigate and resolve housekeeping-related guest concerns promptly, professionally, and courteously.
Inventory & Equipment
- Monitor inventories of linens, guest room amenities, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts, supply ordering, and cost control initiatives.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of housekeeping equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Minimize waste while maintaining operational readiness.
Guest Service
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and service recovery situations.
- Maintain a visible presence on guest floors to ensure exceptional service standards.
- Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experience.
- Promote a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality-related education preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel or resort environment.
- Previous supervisory or lead housekeeping experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and sanitation standards.
- Experience using hotel property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping software is preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions while maintaining productivity.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Requires a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business demands.
- Work is performed throughout guest room floors, housekeeping areas, storage rooms, and other hotel facilities.
