SUMMARY

Assemble and test electrical control panels, assemble (crimp and/or solder) wiring harness’ and cables. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of control device functions
2. Skill in accurate assembly.
3. Skill in reading electronic schematics and wiring diagrams to perform testing and troubleshooting of control panels.
4. Ability to accept responsibility and complete projects in a timely manner.
5. Ability to operate tools safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for assembly and testing of control panels.
• Must be able to understand the functions of common control devices such as relay logic, timers, push buttons and switches.
• Operation of various hand tools, power tools and electric jig saw, electric band saw, electric drill, electric tap gun, and hydraulic / pneumatic hole punches. 
• Works with blueprints, wiring diagrams, wiring schematics, process sheets and knowledge of products. 
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Functions in a workplace of dignity and respect for all.
• Functions as a team member and to get along with others.

• Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.
• Performs other similar or related duties as assigned, or as necessary, to accomplish the department's objectives in an effective manner.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

• Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
• Follows all safe work practices, watches out for fellow workers, and keeps their work area clean. 
• Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.
• The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers’ facilities: 

Company approved safety glasses or goggles

1. Company approved steel ESD toe shoes.
2. Appropriate hand protection.
3. Ear protection in designated areas.
4. Appropriate clothing.
5. Other safety equipment as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or six months or more related experience and/or training in electrical controls. 
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blue prints and wiring schematics. Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to solve practical electrical problems.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: Use of computer to print wire and terminal labels.
• EQUIPMENT: Various hand tools, electric drills, electric tap guns and hydraulic punches.
• CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.
