Position                    Employment CounsellorStatus:                      Full-time Term Position, Schedule:                 Core hours: 8:00am-3:30pm Reporting to:           Director of HealthSalary:                    $43,680 /per year Summary of Position: The Employment Counsellor with be providing Neskonlith communities with assistance and information on all aspects of employment search and career planning.  Relevant Knowledge and Abilities: Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Neskonlith Indian Band policies and procedures,Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background, and career goals.Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews.Assess need for assistance such as rehabilitation, financial aid or further training and refer clients to the appropriate services.Job coaching, counselling, or mentoring clients  Implementing action plans and monitoring progress to help clients achieve sustainable employment. Providing excellent customer service and resolving issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment Building partnerships with employers, community agencies and other stakeholders  Requirements and Qualifications: A valid BC Driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to each of our Neskonlith communities, Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable sector), required. A post-secondary degree, certificate, or diploma in a relevant field (human resources management, career development, counselling, social work, psychology, adult education), or completion of course work in related fields, or 2 or more years of demonstrated experience.   Please submit:        Cover letter, References and Resume to Health Director Closing Date:       Posting until filled  We thank all applicants for their interest.
