Title of Role: Infrastructure Engineer (Senior / Staff Level)
Location: Remote (US) / New York (Preferred)
Company Stage of Funding: Seed Stage (~$17M raised)
Office Type: Remote-first (US-based; NYC preference with occasional in-person meetups)
Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 base + meaningful equity
Company Description
This is a seed-stage healthcare AI company on a mission to fix one of the most frustrating systems in the U.S.—medical billing and insurance.
Healthcare today is complex, opaque, and often unfair, with nearly 40% of medical bills containing errors or incorrect denials. The company is building an AI-powered platform that helps individuals fight claim denials, correct billing mistakes, negotiate costs, and better understand their coverage.
Founded by a former healthcare leader and backed by top-tier investors, the company has raised $17M and is well-capitalized for the next phase of growth.
With a team of ~24 employees and strong early traction (currently in stealth with exceptional user satisfaction), this is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven company at the intersection of healthcare, AI, and infrastructure, building a product with real-world impact.
What You Will Do

- Manage and improve observability and monitoring using OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb, Sentry, and Datadog
- Enhance developer experience by optimizing a TypeScript monorepo (Nx) and Docker-based DevContainers
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Pulumi for multi-environment deployments
- Lead infrastructure improvements and clear technical backlog in the first 3–4 months
- Support HIPAA compliance efforts, including RBAC implementation and security monitoring
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity
- Transition into a hybrid role contributing to broader engineering efforts beyond infrastructure
Ideal Candidate Background
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Strong experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Proven ability to own infrastructure systems end-to-end
- Experience working in early-stage or high-growth startup environments
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across systems and environments
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first, fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience with modern observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Honeycomb, etc.)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Pulumi, Terraform, etc.)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to TypeScript ecosystems, monorepos, or developer tooling improvements
- Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.)
- Interest in healthcare, AI, or mission-driven products
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary of $180,000 – $230,000
- Meaningful equity package
- Visa sponsorship available (case-by-case)
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) and mental health support
- Unlimited PTO and flexible remote work
- Company-paid meals for in-person team members
- Quarterly team offsites and meetups
- High-impact role in a fast-growing, mission-driven team (~24 employees)
This is a high-impact opportunity for senior infrastructure engineers who want to build and scale systems that directly improve people’s lives. You’ll own critical infrastructure, shape developer experience, and help power an AI-driven product tackling one of the most broken systems in the U.S.
