1. Automation Engineering (UI / API / Batch) - 60%

Develop and maintain automated tests for web UI and services across policy, billing, and claims applications using established frameworks and patterns

Implement automated checks for common insurance workflows (quote, bind, issue, endorsement, payment posting, FNOL creation) with reliable assertions and error handling

Create reusable test utilities (test data builders, page objects, API clients, helpers) to reduce duplication and improve suite maintainability

Execute and troubleshoot automation runs locally and in test environments; identify root causes of failures (test vs. environment vs. defect)

Insurance Domain Validation

Execute end-to-end validation of core P&C workflows:

Policy lifecycle: quote → bind → issue → endorsement → renewal → cancellation

Claims lifecycle: FNOL → adjudication → settlement

Billing: invoicing, payments, refunds, reconciliation basics

Validate rating outcomes and underwriting/rules behavior using provided scenarios; flag discrepancies with clear reproduction steps

Verify basic regulatory/compliance-related behaviors as documented (required fields, notices, effective dates, audit trails)

Test Strategy & Execution

Identify repeatable manual test cases suitable for automation (high-volume, high-risk, regression-prone) and propose additions to the suite

Build and expand regression coverage for core transactions and critical integrations

Support SIT/UAT by executing test runs, capturing evidence, and assisting with triage and retesting

Data & Integration Testing

Perform backend validation using SQL to confirm policy/claim/billing records, balances, and status transitions

Support migration/conversion testing by reconciling record counts, key fields, and calculated values between legacy and target systems

Validate integrations with third parties (payment gateways, document systems, external data providers) using test cases and logs

API & Services Testing

Execute and automate REST/SOAP validations using tools such as Postman and/or basic scripts in REST Assured/Karate (as applicable)

Validate request/response payloads, status codes, business error messages, and basic authentication flows

2. CI/CD & DevOps Integration - 30%

Run automation suites from CI pipelines (Azure DevOps/Jenkins) and support maintenance of pipeline test steps under guidance

Publish results (reports, logs, evidence) and communicate run status to the team

Defect Management & Collaboration

Log defects with strong reproduction steps and insurance context (LOB, state, effective date, coverage, limits, rating variables)

Collaborate with BAs/SMEs/developers to clarify expected behavior and confirm fixes through retest

3. Teamwork & Collaboration  - 10%

Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to meet client needs and contribute to achievement of internal team goals.
