Overview:
Selected interns will have the opportunity to work on real-world, value-driven project in Review Process and Define Improvement Opportunities – TPU Photoelectric (Production) Department, based on their background, skills, and interests as assessed by the hiring managers during the interview process:
Project Description:
During the internship period, the student will support the review and analysis of existing manufacturing and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities. Key responsibilities include:
Map and document current workflows and process steps;
Collect and analyze production data, including productivity, quality, lead time, and waste;
Observe shop floor operations and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and non-value-added activities;
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Fishbone Diagram, and 5 Why analysis) to investigate root causes;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to propose practical improvement ideas and evaluate their potential benefits;
Support the implementation and monitoring of selected improvement actions;
Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes;
By the end of the internship, the student is expected to deliver a structured process review with actionable recommendations that contribute to improved productivity, quality, cost efficiency, or operational performance;
Requirements:
Expected full-time working (5 days/week) within 6 months;
Final-year student in Industrial Management, Industrial and System Engineering, or related fields;
Understand of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement;
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
