The RN Coordinator Operations coordinates the tasks and processes within the Orthopedic, Neuro or Thoracic service lines, while providing direct and indirect nursing care under approved patient care protocols in the Orthopedic, Neuro or Thoracic service lines.

 

Job Description

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. GENERAL DUTIES

    • In the performance of duties, the RN Coordinator Operations uses financial indicators to create reports, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations for operational efficiencies.
    • Provides direct and indirect nursing care within the perioperative function of Orthopedic, Neuro, or Thoracic service lines, which includes but not limited to block scheduling, attending to patients before, during, and post surgeries.​
    • Provides post-surgery care to patients as well as care and discharge instructions to both patients and family members.
    • Collaborates with other team members in other departments to complete tasks or projects.
    • Generates operational reports on periodic and scheduled frequencies.
    • Promotes excellent customer service by supporting all quality initiatives.
    • Supports and contributes to all quality initiatives through effective coordination of projects and deliverables.
    • Provides other clinical related duties when assigned.


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5 years As an OR nurse. (required)
    • Previous experience in project coordination. (required)
    • Training, experience or demonstrated competency in age-relevant patient communication. (required)


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

    • Required: Graduate Of accredited school of nursing
    • Preferred: College degree

    • Must demonstrate an understanding of clinic operations and must be able to function as an effective change agent relating to various personnel and public in an objective and satisfying manner.
    • Ability to establish professional guest relations in all aspects: teamwork, timeliness, communication skills, positive attitude, and motivator
    • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment in crisis that may arise.
    • Knowledge of inventory of supplies/equipment and measures cost containment to include a balance of work related activities and salaries.
    • Possesses ability to utilize resources in development of Policy and Procedures.
    • The ability to conduct meetings in a professional yet energetic style so that the staff is motivated to perform to the best of their ability.
    • Participates in career ladder.
    • Must be able to operate various types of office and medical equipment used in area being supervised.
