Museum Tour Supervisor
Paisley Park | Chanhassen, Minnesota
Full-Time | Schedule: Thursday–Monday; schedule may vary based on events and operational needs.
Paisley Park is seeking an experienced Museum Tours Supervisor to support our Tour team and help create exceptional experiences for guests from around the world.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising daily tour operations, supporting and developing the tour team, and maintaining high standards for tour quality and guest services.
Responsibilities
Tour Operations & Guest Experience
- Supervise daily tour operations and ensure an exceptional, welcoming, safe, and memorable guest experience.
- Provide active leadership on tour floor, including opening and closing operations, staffing, tour flow, and daily assignments.
- Maintain high standards for tour quality, guest service, professionalism, and presentation.
- Regularly lead guest tours and serve as a strong example of storytelling and guest engagement.
- Support special events, and other programming as needed.
Leadership & Development
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Tour Guides and Tour Leads.
- Assist the Management with interviewing, onboarding, training, and developing Tour Guides.
- Regularly observe tours and provide coaching and feedback, accuracy, guest engagement, and professionalism.
- Reinforce expectations and help ensure employees have the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to succeed.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
- Provide operational leadership in the absence of the Museum Tour Manager.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, readiness, and adherence to established procedures.
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions and day-to-day operational needs.
Communication
- Help ensure tour information is accurate and communicated consistently across the team.
- Assist with reviewing and updating scripts, training materials, and procedures.
- Provide coaching on public speaking and audience engagement.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing
- Collaborate effectively with leadership and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience, preferably in a guest-facing environment.
- Experience training, coaching, or providing direction to employees.
- Excellent communication, public-speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in an active museum environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Must be age 18 or older.
