Job Summary:

  • Lead the assigned production operations at the Ciudad Acuña Plant, with a primary focus on welding and metal fabrication processes, guiding teams to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost objectives. 
  • Ensure execution of production plans measured in units and base hours; manage personnel, machinery, equipment, processes, and consumables; drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and structured problem solving; and coordinate activities with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Process Engineering teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations in assigned production areas, primarily welding and metal fabrication, ensuring production plans are achieved in units and base hours. 
  • Lead the Operations team by setting objectives, assigning accountability, providing coaching and feedback, and monitoring performance. 
  • Achieve safety objectives and foster a proactive safety culture focused on zero injuries. 
  • Deliver quality results by monitoring applicable performance indicators, including PPM and customer-related metrics, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Manage personnel, machinery, equipment, capacity, processes, and consumables to maintain production continuity and ensure the effective use of resources. 
  • Control variable operating costs, primarily labor, overtime, and consumables, and implement recovery actions when deviations occur. 
  • Coordinate with Operations managers, Manufacturing Engineering, and Process Engineering to implement engineering changes and projects that affect safety, quality, cost, or production. 
  • Drive Lean initiatives, cost-reduction projects, and structured problem solving to improve overall operational performance. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a safe and sound manufacturing environment. 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relates to the field
  • Advanced English
  • Expert in variety of Staff and Supervisory Positions

  • Ensure lessons learned from problem-solving efforts are captured and shared.

  • Identifies performance issues early and defines specific improvement actions. 
  • Tracks improvement actions and follows through on completion. 
  • Adjusts and communicates performance objectives as team priorities change. 

Analytical Thinking:

  • Identifies discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information and explains variances. 
  • Organizes and prioritizes the steps required to resolve the situation. 
  • Identifies possible causes of a problem based on available information and relevant operational knowledge. 
  • Quantifies costs, benefits, risks, and likelihood of success before recommending a course of action. 
  • Breaks complex problems into component parts and selects analytical tools appropriate to the situation. 

Planning and Organizing:

  • Keeps stakeholders informed of potential changes and adjusts requirements as appropriate. 
  • Identifies the critical goals and tasks required to meet daily objectives. 
  • Develop contingency plans to improve processes and prevent operational problems. 
  • Effectively manages competing and conflicting priorities. 
  • Closely monitors plan execution to ensure the intended results are achieved. 

Top Candidates also have:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or certifications related to continuous improvement, quality, or structured problem solving. 
  • Microsoft Office and tools used for analysis, operational monitoring, and communication of results. 
  • Industrial welding processes; metal fabrication; quality management; PPM indicators; production planning in units and base hours; variable manufacturing costs; Lean Manufacturing; engineering changes; and process optimization. 
  • Leadership of large-scale operations teams; leadership of front-line or mid-level leaders; interaction with customers and teams in the United States; implementation of cost-reduction projects; and cross-functional coordination with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Process Engineering.

  • Location: Acuña, Coahuila.
  • This position is five-day a week in-office model.
