Who We Need – Business Intelligence Consultants
We are looking for experienced Business Intelligence Developers to join our Data, Information and Analytics team as client-facing consultant for a 6 month contract. Good communication and collaboration skills are therefore a must, as well as great technical ability, statistical ability and a passion to convert data into thought provoking visual information. There will be exposure to a wide range of industries, so the ability to quickly understand new business environments is essential.

What Will You Do?
Key Responsibility:
Develop clients reporting and analytics capability. The team currently relies on Excel and wants to make better use of its data to measure KPIs, track initiatives, identify issues proactively and provide meaningful business insights.
The consultant will work directly with stakeholders to understand their needs, assess the available data and translate requirements into practical solutions. This requires both advisory capability and hands-on development, with the ability to work independently across discovery, solution design, data preparation and reporting.
AWS forms part of the existing data environment. QuickSight is a potential reporting tool, although the final technology approach will depend on the requirements and assessment of the environment.
Advantageous: AWS, Amazon QuickSight and Qlik experience. AWS forms part of the data environment; the reporting tool is still to be confirmed.
Key responsibilities
* Engage GRC stakeholders to understand business objectives, current reporting challenges and priority requirements.
* Help define KPIs and measures for tracking business performance and initiatives.
* Investigate data sources, understand how information is captured and assess its suitability for reporting.
* Identify data quality, availability and integration gaps.
* Recommend an appropriate reporting approach based on business needs and the existing technology environment.
* Design and develop data pipelines, transformations and data models where required.
* Build reports and dashboards that support monitoring, proactive analysis and business decision-making.
* Validate reporting outputs with stakeholders and refine the solution based on feedback.
* Take ownership of delivery, communicating progress, dependencies and issues clearly.
Required skills and experience
* Senior-level experience delivering data and BI solutions, from requirements gathering through to development.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to clarify requirements that are not yet fully defined.
* Ability to translate business objectives into KPIs, reporting requirements and technical solutions.
* Strong SQL, data modelling and data transformation skills.
* Practical experience developing data pipelines and integrating information from different sources.
* Hands-on experience building BI reports and dashboards.
* Ability to assess an existing data environment and make practical solution design recommendations.
* Ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders and work independently across the delivery process.

Amazon QuickSight.
