Description
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems across complete large CAT equipment.
- Work on engines, powertrain, hydraulic, braking, steering, undercarriage, attachments and related systems.
- Use CAT ET and SIS as required for diagnosis and approved repair information.
- Lead complex fault finding, Carry out component removal, installation, testing and commissioning under approved procedures.
- Complete onsite repairs within competence, tooling and authorised scope.
- Support warranty inspections and preserve failed parts and evidence as instructed.
- Complete job cards, service reports, measurements and parts-used records accurately.
- Maintain tools, workplace housekeeping and contamination-control standards.
- Report additional defects, hazards and repeat failures promptly.
Requirements
- Diploma, FTC or recognised technical trade certificate in Mechanical, Automotive or Heavy Equipment Engineering.
- 5-7 years relevant experience in heavy equipment maintenance; CAT Mining equipment experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, reporting and team-coordination skills.
- CAT large equipment experience is preferred.
- Good English communication and computer literacy.
- Able to work on day and night shifts according to roster.
- Comply with EHS requirements, risk assessment/JSA, Lockout/Tagout and Stop Work Authority.
- Follow working-at-height, confined-space, lifting/rigging and fatigue-management controls where applicable.
- Report hazards and near misses and follow environmental and spill-control procedures.
- Valid driving licence.
