Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of dedicated PACU nursing experience.
- Active Michigan RN license required at submission.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for a temporary hospital assignment in Bay City, Michigan. The RN will provide post-operative care, monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Schedule & Requirements:
- 12-hour day shifts, 9:00 AM–9:30 PM.
- 36 guaranteed hours per week.
- Weekend availability required.
- On-call availability required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness during post-anesthesia recovery.
- Maintain airway patency and assess respiratory status.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, pain relief, and antiemetics.
- Assess surgical sites, dressings, and drainage for complications.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and post-operative emergencies.
- Document patient assessments and care in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the perioperative care team.
