Job Description – Cost Manager (CSA: Civil, Structural & Architectural)

 

Role Purpose

The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting managers in achieving service excellence and positive outcomes for our clients; showing high levels of technical capability, sound commercial knowledge and a good understanding of the key drivers of cost and value across civil, structural and architectural (CSA) scopes; capturing and sharing knowledge and driving innovation in service. Successful candidates will be presented with a great opportunity for career progression whilst at the same time being exposed to cross-sector experience.

What this job involves

 

·        Provide support to Team Leaders, Service Leaders in the delivery of real estate led developments; carry day to day delivery responsibility and demonstrate the ability to take on tasks with minimal supervision.

·        Assist in the coaching and development of subordinate team members in the delivery of service excellence.

·        Carry out measurement and quantity take-off for civil, structural and architectural (CSA) scopes from drawings and models, using measurement software and the agreed method of measurement.

·        Prepare and update cost plans, estimates and bills of quantities (BOQs) for CSA packages, stating assumptions, exclusions and allowances where design information is incomplete.

·        Support tender and procurement of CSA packages, including preparation of tender documents, tender analysis and recommendations.

·        Assess variations and design changes affecting CSA works, and report their cost impact.

·        Review drawings and specifications, and raise and track RFIs to close information gaps.

·        Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.

·        Utilize and embed JLL best practice tools and processes including the use of technology to support delivery.

·        Be able to interpret a brief from a client or senior manager and convert into a delivery plan.

·        Demonstrate the ability to take ownership of small / medium sized projects or significant components of larger Cost Management assignments.

·        Understand and comply with business risk and project delivery parameters including compliance with the scope of service agreed by others.

·        Capture and share knowledge and be involved with the development of service improvement and innovation as part of the JLL way.

·        Be a strong team player but demonstrate the ability to take a leadership role as part of personal development planning.

·        Always represent the company in a professional and diligent manner.

 

Desired skills and experience

·        Approx. 5 years of relevant cost management experience

·        Proven track record in cost management, with hands-on CSA measurement, cost planning and BOQ preparation.

·        Working knowledge of measurement and take-off software (e.g. CostX) and strong Excel skills.

·        Experience working on South East Asia projects would be desirable.

·        Degree in a related subject (BE / B.Tech – Civil / Structural, B.Arch, or equivalent)

·        MRICS would be advantageous.
