SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Therapist provides comprehensive behavioral health services as part of Salience Health’s collaborative, multi-specialty care team. This role provides individual therapy, clinical assessments, psychoeducation, crisis intervention, and ongoing therapeutic support to patients across a diverse range of ages and backgrounds.
The Therapist serves as both a therapy provider and crisis clinician, working closely with psychiatric providers and other members of the treatment team to support patient stability, recovery, and overall behavioral health outcomes. The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically skilled, organized, and able to establish trusting relationships while utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Clinical Assessment & Therapy
· Conduct new patient therapy evaluations to gather relevant patient information and assess emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
· Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop individualized therapeutic treatment plans based on patient needs, clinical presentation, and treatment goals.
· Provide individual psychoeducational and therapeutic sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
· Diagnose and treat mental health disorders within the scope of professional licensure and applicable regulations.
· Meet with patients regularly to provide therapeutic treatment, monitor progress, and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
· Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress and treatment effectiveness.
· Establish positive, trusting, and therapeutic relationships with patients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
· Demonstrate the ability to connect effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and circumstances.
Crisis Intervention & Patient Support
· Provide crisis intervention and support in collaboration with Salience psychiatric providers and the broader treatment team.
· Complete appropriate risk assessments, determine level of risk, implement appropriate interventions, and ensure appropriate follow-up after crisis situations.
· Demonstrate knowledge and application of crisis intervention and suicide prevention practices.
· Recognize behaviors and symptoms associated with common psychiatric diagnoses and utilize appropriate intervention techniques.
· Serve as a patient advocate by coordinating appropriate services, resources, and support during crisis situations or other urgent needs.
· Provide education and resources to patients and families when appropriate.
· Refer patients to outside specialists, agencies, or community resources when clinically appropriate or necessary.
Care Coordination & Team Collaboration
· Maintain ongoing communication with psychiatric providers and other members of the treatment team regarding patient progress, treatment needs, and clinical concerns.
· Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, and administrative team members to support coordinated patient care.
· Involve and advise family members or other appropriate support systems when clinically appropriate and consistent with patient needs and confidentiality requirements.
· Attend weekly team meetings and participate in case discussions and other clinical collaboration activities as required.
· Maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, providers, and members of the Salience Health team.
Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of patient evaluations, therapy sessions, treatment plans, progress, crisis interventions, and other clinical activities.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, organizational policies, clinical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
· Follow all patient safety protocols and established clinical procedures.
· Maintain current professional licensure and comply with all applicable state licensing and professional requirements.
· Maintain professional liability/malpractice insurance as required.
· Attend company trainings, clinical trainings, meetings, and other educational activities pertinent to the position.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong clinical assessment, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills.
· Ability to stabilize and appropriately respond to patients experiencing behavioral health or emotional crises.
· Strong understanding of common psychiatric diagnoses and associated behaviors, symptoms, and treatment approaches.
· Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
· Ability to establish and maintain trusting, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
· Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Current, unrestricted LCSW or LPC license meeting all applicable state licensing requirements.
· Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, or another clinically related field.
· At least 2 years of clinical experience providing diagnostic assessments and therapy services.
· Experience providing clinical services to a diverse range of individuals, including youth through adulthood.
· Current professional liability/malpractice insurance or ability to obtain and maintain coverage as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience working in behavioral health, psychiatry, or an integrated healthcare setting.
· Experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or other evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
· Experience providing crisis intervention and conducting suicide risk assessments.
· Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
· Experience treating patients across multiple age groups and diverse backgrounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
