Requirements
Position Overview
Silver Star Protection Group is seeking dependable and professional Unarmed Security Guards to support a client location in Ohio.
This position will primarily operate from an outdoor guard shack and will be responsible for monitoring the property, maintaining awareness of activity on and around the grounds, conducting routine safety and security checks, and reporting unusual or suspicious activities.
Security Guards are expected to remain attentive and engaged throughout their shift, follow site-specific post orders, communicate professionally with client personnel and SSPG leadership, and respond appropriately to incidents or concerns. Because SSPG provides security services based on client needs, specific duties, schedules, and assignments may evolve as operational requirements change.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence at the assigned client location.
- Monitor the property and surrounding grounds for suspicious activity, safety concerns, unauthorized access, or other irregularities.
- Conduct routine safety and security checks in accordance with site post orders and client expectations.
- Remain alert, attentive, and prepared to respond appropriately throughout the assigned shift.
- Observe and report incidents, hazards, suspicious behavior, property concerns, and other unusual activity.
- Complete accurate and timely incident reports, daily activity reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate professionally with client representatives, visitors, employees, SSPG management, and emergency personnel when necessary.
- Follow all client-specific post orders, access procedures, emergency protocols, and SSPG policies.
- Maintain assigned security areas, including guard stations, in a professional manner.
- Report to assigned shifts on time and remain on duty for the entirety of the scheduled shift unless otherwise authorized.
- Maintain flexibility to support reasonable scheduling or assignment changes based on client and operational needs.
- Perform additional security-related duties as assigned by SSPG leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain the required Ohio PISGS registration.
- Previous unarmed security, military, law enforcement, loss prevention, or other relevant security-related experience preferred.
- Strong observational skills and situational awareness.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during periods of limited activity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to accurately document incidents and observations.
- Professional demeanor and sound judgment when interacting with clients, employees, visitors, and the public.
- Ability to follow written post orders, policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies, suspicious activity, or unexpected situations.
- Ability to perform required safety and security checks and meet the physical requirements of the assigned post.
