We’re looking for a Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics and Recovery to join our Theatre team at The Wilmslow Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The Wilmslow Hospital is a modern private hospital at the heart of Cheshire, offering consultant led care, advanced diagnostics and surgical services across a wide range of specialties. With state of the art facilities, including dedicated theatres and recovery areas, we combine the resources of a leading healthcare provider with the close knit feel of a local hospital, creating an environment where colleagues are recognised, supported and encouraged to grow.

As a Theatre Practitioner in Anaesthetics and Recovery, you’ll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering high quality perioperative care across a broad case mix. Working within specialties including ophthalmology, ENT, urology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery and gynaecology, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your clinical expertise in both routine and complex procedures. From preparing patients for anaesthesia and supporting the anaesthetist during surgery, to providing skilled post anaesthetic care in recovery, your role will be varied, hands on and rewarding. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues who are committed to clinical excellence and continuous learning, with opportunities to broaden your skills across different specialities and disciplines.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver consistently high standards of patient care using evidence based practice
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care throughout the perioperative journey
  • Prepare patients for anaesthesia and provide skilled assistance to the anaesthetist
  • Deliver safe and effective post anaesthetic care within the recovery environment
  • Work collaboratively across the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues

What you’ll bring:

  • Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse qualification
  • Current HCPC or NMC registration
  • Post registration experience within a theatre environment
  • Proven experience in anaesthetics and recovery
  • Completion of a postgraduate anaesthetics course (for nurses)
